DARPA's Hypersonic Suborbital Falcon HTV-2 spacecraft looks like...

DARPA's Hypersonic Sub-orbital Falcon HTV-2 spacecraft looks like the Icarus spacecraft seen in the first 3 "Planet of the Apes" films. It's suppose to be able to transport cargo or warheads or (potentially) people from anywhere on Earth to anywhere else on Earth in an hour. Here is a link to it on the Popular Science website, there is an animation of it flying, located at the bottom of the page.

Do you think it REALLY looks like that? I mean, all we ever see are renderings, and all from DOD. I'll bet there are a few details they don't want to reveal.
Unlike, say, the X37, which we actually get to see pics and video of. Of course, it's just a scales down robot version of the shuttle, so there's nothing really new to reveal with that.

Strange that they just completely lost track of it. Maybe it'll show up in about 2000 years in a lake somewhere.

As I was clicking on this thread, I said out loud, "Icarus!" :guffaw:
