Warner Bros. has picked up “Dark Moon,” a spec from scribe Olatunde Osunsanmi, for Akiva Goldsman produce via his Weed Road shingle. Osunsanmi is also on board to direct the movie.

“Moon” takes on the idea that manned moon missions did not stop with Apollo 17 and follows a black ops post-Apollo mission sent to the moon to explore previously classified discoveries and its unintended and disturbing consequences.

“Moon” falls into the burgeoning genre of “found footage movies,” which are purported to be reels or tapes or files found after the person operating the camera expired.

This sounds great. conspriacy and a moon mission. I guess that's like Capricorn 1 on speed.

Yeah I saw this...I'm working on a script myself that deals with similar notions, it seems like this is based off of Richard C. Hoaglund's book "Dark Mission: A Secret History of NASA".

Product Description

For most Americans, the word NASA suggests a squeaky-clean image of technological infallibility.

Yet the truth is that NASA was born in a lie, and has concealed the truths about its occult origins. Dark Mission documents this seemingly wild assertion.

Why is the Bush administration intent on returning to the moon as quickly as possible? What are the reasons for the current “space race” with China, Russia, and India? Remarkable images reproduced within this book provided to author Richard C. Hoagland by disaffected NASA employees provide clues why, including information about suppressed lunar discoveries.

Mystical organizations quietly dominate NASA, carrying out their own secret agendas behind the scenes. This is the story of men at the very fringes of rational thought and conventional wisdom, operating at the highest levels of our country. Their policies are far more aligned with ancient religions and secret mystery schools than the facade of rational science NASA has successfully promoted to the world for almost fifty years.

Dark Mission is proof of the secret history of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration and the astonishing, seminal discoveries it has repeatedly suppressed for decades.

Richard C. Hoagland is the former science advisor to CBS News, author of The Monuments of Mars, and a frequent guest on the popular radio programs Coast To Coast and The Art Bell Show.

Mike Bara is a consulting engineer for Boeing aircraft. This is his first book.

Yeah, that's what the word "NASA" suggests to most people.

So, what, does Randall Dowling figure heavily into this?

From a review:

The spiritual aspects of UFOlogy, Adolf Hitler's birthday (April 20), 19.5 degrees location of planetary "hotspots" (on the Earth, the Moon, Mars, Jupiter, etc), the number 33 (Launch Complex 33, Shuttle Runway 33, 333 degrees from Egypt's Great Pyramid at Giza leads to JPL in California), and more and more numbers are overwhelmingly discussed by Hoagland in detail.
The sound you hear is my brain popping out of my head and getting into a cab for Walla Walla like in an old cartoon.

Like, that last thing doesn't even make sense on its own merits--the Great Pyramid is an isotropic structure; any circle you draw around it will begin arbitrarily, hence Degree 333 is as meaningless as Degree 1. And how do you overwhelmingly discuss something?

Richard's work is out there for sure but he does bring up interesting concepts. I can understand though why he's been labeled as a pseudo-scientist by the mainstream media.
