Dark Matter comic book by Stargate producers

So the first of four issues of Dark Matter, written by Joe Mallozzi and Paul Mullie came out last week. I finally got around to picking it up yesterday.

Overall it was ok, kind of Stargate-ish actually. A group of people on a spaceship are wakened by from their cryogenic sleep by the ship with no memories of who they are, but they still remember how to work the ship.

I'm torn by the art, it was nothing special, but in a way it's better than some of the over the top, highly detailed stuff that you see nowadays.

Some people have said the premise might actually have been what they were planning for the start of season 3 of SGU...

And Mallozzi said in his blog that he first outlined Dark Matter a couple of years ago, before SGU. In either case, it does sounds familiar.
I don't know AJ86, we might be the only ones who likes SGU on this forum, but that opening for an possible season 3 just don't sounds right to me.

He also wrote recently that they've been pitching the show to a couple of networks for a possible series or mini-series.

Also, he have just finished the fourth season of Breaking Bad and wrote this
“I was telling my agent yesterday that we really need to position Dark Matter as the SF equivalent of a Sopranos or a Breaking Bad, a premium series with twists, turns, and serialized potential,”

That would be ideal.

And you're not the only ones who liked SGU.

I was sad when Stargate Universe got Syfylis.
