Any fans of Max Guevarra on this site? I think the show was awesome, even if the second season had some clunkers (Okay, about half by my count:alienblush:). Still, an excellent final ep!

C'mon! Show us your bar codes!

I've never seen Dark Angel but I'm a great Jessica Alba fan. And her look from that show.
Does it count ?

I like this show, from what little I have seen of it. What was teh deal with Eyes Only, or something like that. HE was a dude that ran an underground resistance thing and he worked with Max. He liked her, but she liked someone else? And the other guy was a boxer of some kind? He had a bar code too, but he didn't like to fight?

I remember thinking about all of these questions as I mindlessly watched like 4 or 5 episodes in a row.

I've only seen a couple episodes so far. But I got some store credit recently and I used it to pick up the 1st season on a semi-blind buy.

I guess, but please, see her in action!;)

Wow. Too much to unravel there. Ya gotta start with the FIRST season, man.:wtf:

First is gold; many eps from the second tie things up well. Just fast forward through the ones that feature weird transgenics.

I've heard good things about DA.
Just understand that while season one is awesome, season two got the "Why don't you spice it up?" treatment from the boys at the office, so about half the eps are "meh" while the other half more or less stand up to season one quality. But if, like me, you get hooked on the relationship between the two main characters, that'll likely pull you through to the cool series finale.

Love it, especially the first season. The pilot episode is probably my favorite pilot--it was so fully formed right from the start.

Not terribly fond of the second season as a whole, but it's still enjoyable.

A couple months ago, I bought the three novel tie-ins off of Ebay. I'm hoping to give them a shot before the summer ends.

I think it also suffered from being post 9-11. I haven't watched the second season in quite a while, but I do recall a change of tone and less focus on the bleak, ruined America setting.

It was a flawed but decent show. Season 1 started out in that lame 90s adventure standalone series type but by the end of the season had a decent running storyline. But then Season 2 was a real step down with all the silly mutant animal people and the hammy villain. Not to mention Alba went from short n curlies to long and straight. Terrible move!

It's a fun little show that I enjoyed quite a bit. I also think Alba was at her hottest back in her DA days.

I generally preferred the first series to the second. I did like them introducing the character of Alec though for season 2 though.

I was a big fan of this:techman: And I still like it:)
The first season is better in my opinion and has good running storyline, as others here have pointed out.
I think Jessica Alba did good enough job as a lead, though she may not be the best actress around and found the character of Max cool.
John Savage was great as Lydecker, one of my favorite television villains:devil:, sadly he left the show on the 2nd season, a big mistake in my opinion ( And we never found out who killed his wife and so on..)
Logan Cale was not a bad character either and his relationship with Max was well handled.
I think the show had interesting mythology and scenery, that held well but was changed bit too much in the 2nd season and the show somehow got less dark, wich I didint like...

Definitely. It was more focused on the strange-looking transgenic menace thing- a little too X-Men-y considering the first season was more or less reality based. BUT, by skipping key bad eps*, the second season was okay.

*IMO, skip #'s 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, 14- 18 & 20. That makes it like a good half-season.

Alec was definitely the biggest plus of season 2.
Now why would you say that:devil:.

I do agree that I liked Alec (especially the first season episode with that character/Model).

But boy did everything else that was added to the 2nd season suck, I mean SUCK.

When the first episode of this aired on Sky One in the UK they kept interrupting the (then) new episode of Stargate SG-1 with the all-important DARK ANGEL COUNTDOWN!!! which was very loud and very intrusive. At the end of the episode, they played the last seconds of this DARK ANGEL COUNTDOWN over the top of the credits and went straight in to the first episode.

It was at this point I decided that I wasn't going to watch Dark Angel. :)

I really hated how they got rid of two characters because Fox thought they were too old. Too bad for John Savage and Nana Visitor...I'm sure they loved hearing how they were too old for the younger viewers Fox wanted.
