So, is Mrs. Hawking Daniel's mom or what? Seems possible to me. He was telling Desmond to go find his mother at Oxford. Presumably his mom would be able to help with all the time mumbo-jumbo, and Mrs. Hawking seems to be the biggest time expert we've seen so far.
The one problem is that she almost certainly wasn't at Oxford given Ben was there with her. And I can't see him taking a time out to fly to the UK to see her.
On the other hand, that was in 2007. Faraday circa "2004" told Desmond to go there and he presumably had no way of knowing where she would be at in the future. So I can totally see Des and Penny showing up and not finding her there, thus facilitating a trip to LA where they'd be in proximity to Ben and the O6.
Any of that make sense?
