Damages is back, baby!

Damages was one of those shows that had only about a season in it. After the first really excellent year the second one didn't add up to a whole lot and seemed aimless. Season 3 was a tad bit better but overall not really worth watching.
Also Patty was compelling to watch that first year but soon became a stale repetitive character that lost all her spark.

Great, and very unexpected news, after so many months of waiting. I agree the show will probably never recapture what it had in Season 1, but Glenn Close is still one of the best working actresses on TV. I do hope Patty gets some of her spark back, and also that Rose Byrne gets a little...sparkier too - the show is at its best when the two of them are playing mind endless games each other.
Hopefully shortening the seasons to 10 episodes each will help tighten them up a bit also, as seasons 2 and 3 were both a little unfocused and rambling at points.
The only bad part of this news is having to wait until Summer 2012, or effectively until 2013 for the DVD releases for those of us who don't have DirecTV (or know what the hell DirecTV even is, like myself).

Glad to a certain extent, but it probably could have ended after 2 or even 1 series. Then after a meandering S3, they suddenly tried to wrap all up, with the return of Timothy Olyphant's character and various explanations in the last episode.
I hope that they can map out the next 2 seasons in advance and get to play it out properly over the 2 seasons. I'd hate to see 2 seasons that dragged along and went nowhere; equally, I'd hate it if they planned an arc over the 2 series to conclude the whole story, then didn't get renewed for the 5th season and had to hurriedly cram it all into the last few eps of S4.

It's good show, but this show is not adding in my favorite show 's list. I'm not so excited after listening, this show is back.
