Dagger of the Mind Remastered image ; Massive Insects ?

i just saw the picture of the entrance to the Tantalus mental Colony on the startrek.com site. Are those huge insects crawling up the side of the mounatain? Is that a ring of forefield projectors around the building ? i missed the episode.

Yeah, they look like xeno-bromeliads, or something related.

Most likely some native alien plants. Although big bugs would have been cooler. But I'm satisfied with what we got...it's certainly a thousand times better looking than the old Delta Vega/second pilot matte painting being reused.

Sweet idea.

That would have been awesome. Flytrap plants snacking on native bugs as the camera zoomed in on the facility.
