Custom Star Trek Action Figure

Has anyone bought one of these? Did it come out looking like you? I always thought I'd be a science guy, so blue uniform, lieutenant JG. They let you pick your rank, uniform branch and body type, along with gender of course.

I think T'Bonz did something like that say a year or so ago.
She mentioned it in a thread and posted a picture. She was most pleased.
I thought it came out pretty good but I'm not absolutely certain it was the same thing.

Sometimes one photo is all you need. ;)

Here's a TMP Rhaandarite from a "Generations" Chekov head and a Spock body.

Edit: Okay, this thread didn't show all the posts and I didn't realise you meant the scanned-pics 3D-printed customs. (Yeah, they usually ask for two pics, front on and side on, then the computer extrapolates.)

But mine are the old fashioned way...

The key is in finding a head that already happens to look a lot like another character. When Playmates was making the 5" figures, I spent a lot of time examining the faces (or costumes) of figures in other lines, but in the same scale, such as "SeaQuest DSV".

Of course, some actors played multiple characters. The commercial TNG K'Ehyler figure makes a great customized Dr Selar, because they both look exactly like Suzie Plakson.

The 9" "Lost in Space" Don made a great Lokai of Cheron!

The 9" TOS Marlena Moreau made a great Ezri Dax.

Lots of pics on my blogs:

The 3.75" Mego line meant that the 3.75" "Star Wars" figures were useful.

When they get the command shirt the proper shade of green, I may be interested.

Yes, I'm anal about that.

<- Mine looks enough like me that I'm happy with it. They even youthened me a decade or so.

Yes, had mine made and it came out perfectly! Gave one to a friend as a surprise birthday gift, his wife got the pics to me and it was awesome. I made him a red shirt!

This is mine, on the right, and one I made of my late brother Ben. So we can always play Star Trek together :)

Nice!

Aren't they great! I got one last year and I love it. They really do look like one's picture.

Edit after rereading thread. Here's mine. Sorry for the lousy quality of the picture, but I can't retake it until I recharge my camera batteries:

I got the "medium" one because I'm not svelte anymore. This one actually has a bit of a belly! LOL.

Anyhow, had to get a Vulcan 'cause no Romulans yet. Once they offer those......

Well, you could get someone skilled at painting miniatures to redo the StarFleet micro-dress to look like that of the Romulan Commander.

Sincerely,

Bill

First off, how truly touching that you would have one done of your brother.

Second, I note that the physique differs. Is one thin and the other medium?

Thanks, it's great to see his figure standing with mine it means a lot to me.

mine is the shortest thin one they offer, and Bens is medium height and heavy set the fullest they do. They have three heights and three weights. I wanted our proportions to match and they do.

My friends that I made I did medium weight and the tallest and that combo was perfect for him.
