This crowdfunding campaign is taking a 3D Shuttlecraft tent concept that's been floating around since 2016, and finally turning it into a real Shuttlecraft camping tent prototype on Indiegogo! Looks like the Shuttlecraft from TNG. Only creating 10 total prototypes, 5 of each size. These prototype designs will include an early solar power bundle design with battery bank to power/charge usb devices, fans, lights. The campaign will only make prototypes for 10 Trekkies, not for mass production. Looking forward to seeing this get made in the long run!

But… actual characters on the show would normally use regular tents (that being the whole point of a traditional camping experience, away from 24th-century technology), so the crucial, immersive aspect is missing from this tie-in product (which isn’t even licensed). Can you imagine Riker camping in a shuttlecraft tent? Not even Paris would go for one.

Why would anyone crowdfund this when they're not getting anything out of it? What a joke.

What do you mean? They will be the first to get the shuttlecraft tent in an exclusive, Type-8 shuttle edition (like the Type 6 was modified for VGR).
