Critical (UK) is all about Hyper-Realism.

I just need to say Lennie James and you're all all-in.

:)

60 minute drama set in a hospital.

Critical should be dull crap to pacify your Nana with, but here's the hook: Each episode of this series is in real time, like 24, with very long continuous shots, over an open, dying, (sometimes) screaming, bleeding patient. The camera gets right in there, and no one in the cast while they're throwing about medical jargon and alluding to romantic drama gets no farther than 4 feet away from the mangled mess of broken human meat until the credits roll.

Blood everywhere.

Not our usual cup of tea, but it's really, really intensely gross every week, and getting grosser, a fricking freakshow. As a kind word of advice, don't think about eating a meal during a viewing. The season is 13 long, and 8 instalments have already aired, so if this is the first you are hearing of Critical, you need to play catch up.
