Criminal Intent

SlyCardie

Commander

In the spirit of the Columbo thread, I figured I'd start a thread about this show since it's one of my favorite cop shows. Love the casting too, Goren's a great character and a master detective and with Jeff Goldlum joining the cast it's only going to get better IMO

I'm excited it's coming back on April 19th (same day as In Plain Sight too, which is awesome)

I'm really looking forward to Jeff Goldblum joining the cast. Unfortunately, I don't think I have a high enough tolerance for Bobby Goren to be able to stomach the other episodes. And while I like Mike Logan, any time I watch one of his episodes, I get restless halfway through because I keep hoping that Jack McCoy will show up and take over the story.

I was wondering if this show would ever come back, it's been so long since the last season ended. I didn't know if Jeff Goldblum had worked out (I'd heard tell that all of his episodes had to be reshot, although that could be for any number of reasons).

And I do miss Chris Noth. I always liked the Logan/Wheeler episodes better, because they tended to be simpler and more down-to-earth, with the main baddies being the mob and stuff like that. The Goren/Eames ones were always more 'out there'. I think this was done deliberately, to fit the characters - Logan and Wheeler got the more realistic ones because, hey, it's Mike Logan, and somebody as earthy and crude as he would work best investigating similar perps. Goren is a bit of a nut, so he gets cases that fit *him*.

Nowadays I hope they don't make Zach Nichols (Goldblum's character) too much like Goren. But with an actor like that, how could they resist?

YMMV. Me, I'm the exact opposite. I love Bobby Goren, and his "out there" cases. And yes, I'm hoping they make Nichols a little quirky.

I've been waiting forever for the new episodes!

I'm thinking that the casting of Goldblum will make for some interesting new stories, but I hope that he keeps it interesting and isn't simply a Goren or Logan clone.

I actually fell out of CI some time back, but the casting of Goldlum has rekindled my interest in this show. I'm wondering if they are going to let him tap into his "quirky comedic" type. He really hasn't played in that area for some time, and I think having him be a "quirky nut" like Goren, but one which is more light hearted and comedic quirky to country Goren's serious and edgy would be an interesting Duality play for the charecters. Especially if they have them work a case or two together once in a while.

I'm goin' to miss Mike Logan. I don't care much for Jeff Goldblum's previous actin', with a few exceptions, so I'll tune in, see what's what with this new character.

And it'd be nice if they could get a regular D.A. back in the cast.

I am so glad that Jeff Goldlum is joining the cast. He was great in the movie "The Fly".:techman:

If I may...did you catch Raines, Goldblum's previous show? If so, what'd ya think?

I, sadly missed it. I had the Tivo grab all the eps that aired but they were lost before I could watch them. :(

Aw, dude. I wish I had them on tape to lend to you. This is going to be one of those Brilliant But Cancelled shows everybody talks about in a few years. Beg, borrow or steal tapes of this show if you can. The twist ending of the pilot alone is worth it.

Is Wheeler going to be teamed with Goldblum's character or is she being replaced to? She's pretty down to earth so I'm not sure how she'd go with Goren-esque type partner (at least Eames is senior so she's got some chance of keeping Bobby in check btw - has he ever called her Alex(andra)?).

Guess if they need to do a bottle show for what ever reason it could be Eames and Wheeler comparing notes on how to deal with excentric partners

No, she's still on the show. Wheeler is now partnering with Nichols, Eames and Goren are still partners as well.

No, Goren always calls her "Eames". I don't remember him ever using her first name.

Yeah, Goldblum is replacing Chris Noth so it's going to be him and Wheeler.

Watch that interview I linked to because Goldblum talks about his character and what's going to be going on. Some good insights from the guy about his own character.

I'm waiting to see how much screen time he's going to get with Goren and whether or not they'll butt heads at all.
