Ok, since we don't have enough F4 threads yet, let's do this what if game.
20th Century Fox knocks on your door, gives you a 100 million dollar check and says, just pay every cent on a GOOD F4 movie.
Hire a writer who knows his comics, get a decent director and a few known actors who fit the roles to gove teh film some actual star power.
Here is my result:
Fantastic Four
Written by Steven Moffat ( I have no idea if he knows his Fantastic Four, but I'm pretty sure he would write a great comic movie script that is fun, witty and bit fan wanky to satisfy the hardcore fans.)
Directed by Jonathan Frakes (I need a not too expensive director who will take a few queues from the studio but can be left alone a bit without worrying too much about experimental delusions of grandeur and still get a good result)
Main Cast:
Dr. Reed Richards - Ewan McGregor (kinda hard coming up with a favorite that is not already in soem other Marvel comic role, but he would do a great job I think as the effective lead)
Dr. Susan Storm - Kristen Bell (not the biggest star in Hollywood but has some decent name recognition as Anna from Frozen, a damn fine actress, funny as hell when she wants and has super hero experience)
Johnny Storm - Andrew Garfield (is out of a job in the superhero business right now and wouldn't be the first actor to jump Marvel franchises. By now should be mature enough to pass for Johnny instead of Peter Parker also in a stroke of genius this would kinda put Spider-man on teh team as an in-joke)
Ben Grimm - Adam Baldwin (Stan Lee would have liked him as Doctor Doom, but in my movie he would play Ben. These days I would probably use CGI for the Thing, too, so he needs to have the voice, too and Adam fits the bill for me)
The Villain:
No idea actually, cause I don't know enough marvel villains that have not been used already and probably belong to another franchise anyway. i leave this one to you.
