April and Mudd's Daughter

Anyone else wish they could find a way to bring them into the third one/

I hope not. I grabbed the comic the other day, and April said some weird shit about being the captain of a previous enterprise. But the 1701 isn't A/B/C, etc in the JJverse. So unless he took over the NX-01 after Archer or something, it makes zero sense.

I think what the comic was implying was that in the new universe, there was a previous starship Enterprise sometime between Nero's incursion in 2233 and the christening of the Abramsprise in 2355. The comic depicts this vessel as looking almost exactly like the Abramsprise, with the exact same registry number. So it's possible that registry-wise, things are a little different in this new universe.

And that's if you take the comics as any kind of canon source...which I don't.

I think the odds are somewhere between "slim" and "ain't happening."

By the time Star Trek XIII rolls around, I think we'll have moved on from the main storyline of Star Trek XII unto a new one (possibly involving the Klingons and/or some other reimagined aspect from the original Trek universe).

Captain April, at the very least seems to be someone IDW has plans for in the comic series, given his appearance in the STID follow-up comic After Darkness.

I doubt we will, but it would be nice to see them. I liked both those characters, especially whatsherface. ;)

Probably right. It would be best to move on from them.

If it were up to me, and it isn't, I'd never have a bloody letter attached to an Enterprise registry again, unless they were both in service at the same time, for some reason.

OT: Maybe, who knows...

The comics are Canon tm. :techman::drool:

The 3rd movie should have Harry Mudd and his daughter.:techman:

Just because there is not a B added to NCC-1701 doesn't mean Kirk's Enterprise is not the 3rd Enterprise.

Star Trek Enterprise is Canon tm. April's Enterprise doesn't have an A.

Comics are not canon. Having read up to volume 3 myself. In STID Kirk says he's never lost a crewman in his one year as Captain. However volume 1 deals with the Gary Mitchell incident in which Gary Mitchell himself and another crewman are lost. I'm sure there are more deaths, but i can't recall atm. Besides it's not like the people involved with the movie are referencing the comics in order to craft their story. It's the other way around.

I actually preferred April over Harrison and the plot (though beefed up some for a movie) of Countdown to Darkness over Into Darkness. It would be good to see April again-to finally canonize him-but I doubt that will happen in the next film. At least the comics have him maybe in a recurring capacity.
