Could the ideas for Season 5 have fit with the relaunch novels?

Well there's no way they could have done the Kzinti due to copyright issues, at least not for the novels. I recall a TNG book from many years ago ("The Captain's Honor"?) that was going to feature the Kzinti, having them renamed at the last minute.

I'd have liked to see some of these concepts novelized, but that said the Trek novelverse already has a Borg Queen origin story in Destiny, that's utterly fantastic. I'd also really like to have seen the Star Trek: The Beginning script turned into a novel, as the writer once suggested.

I am very interested to see how Shran would have fit in, if he'd joined the NX-01's crew. Leader of the MACO troops, perhaps?

Unfortunately, they didn't do this in the novels, but it was one of the ideas considered for Season 5 of the show.

I think some of the ideas would have worked. That version of Starbase 1 was used in the books, IIRC. T'Pol's father being Romulan would have dovetailed nicely with the retconned plots Trip was involved in. Denobula, Stratos, the Kzinti, and Flint could easily work with the novels. The Alice Krige version of the Borg Queen could have worked with Star Trek: Destiny (perhaps as an improved Queen avatar).

Shran would have been much harder to work in, though. The novels probably could have worked him in, though, going back to Andoria to participate in a sheltreth and then returning to the Imperial Guard as a liaison with Starfleet.

I agree it would have been great to continue the series in another form. Buffy eventually had "Season 8" in comic form, but that precedent didn't exist at the time ENT finished. If they did it, I would like each issue to be set up as a proper TV-style "episode".

I know the Andorians will be appearing the upcoming Enterprise novel Live by the code written by Christopher Bennett. Shran is a great character he's appeared in several Enterprise novels .I think it would've been interesting to have seen the episode I've read about that Guinan wouldv've appeared in.

I would have LOVED to see the Colonel Green and Kzinti episodes.

As well as the entire 5th season being set in the Mirror universe!

As for Flint, here's what I would have done with him:

Spoiler: this is a story idea so that's why it's in spoilercode, because of the bloody lawyers

Have Admiral Forrest turn out to be Flint. Don't know how even Flint would have survived that bombing, but there we are.
