Could someone who lived in a dictatorship find the mirror universe offensive?

Trek kinda tries even if it fails in most of it's social commentary. At least the onscreen version of the Mirror Universe they threw their hand up and yelled the HELL WITH LOGIG, the more EXXXTREME!!!!!!!!!!! the better.
