Could Old Spock be like Old Ben Kenobi ?

what i mean is, we could see Spock overseeing his younger self and a young Kirk in the movie, sort of protecting them from the shaddows like Obi-Wan did in Episode 4 Star Wars. al the while trying to Stop Nero. I think then at some point he will introduce himself to his self, formaly or informaly. Then towards the end he will be doing all the technicall work, like Obi-wan did in " A New Hope" , and much like Spock would anyway. Then finally sacrificing himself once agian , so the others can live, but this time he dies for real real and not for play play

These rumors that Leonard Nimoy will be playing a spirit of some type worry me as I also think it would be too much like Obi wan Kenobi. I think I'd rather see a time travel plot than that, but hopefully they know what they're doing if these rumors turn out to be true.

Well "Spirit" could simply mean he's not there bodily. Has there been some type of nonpyhsical time travel other then "Future Guy"? As I recall Orci implied that when we see "the time time travel" it will be familiar (if we're aware of our Trek lore) and not involve sling shot around a sun.

I know, lots of people are convinced that this is time travel, but 'til I see or hear something OFFICIAL confirming that, I'm not treating it as a given.

I still hold that it's more likely that "Old Spock" will be seen in the late 24th or early 25th century, and "young Spock" will be seen in the mid-late 23rd century, and the two will never been "in the same place at the same time," except perhaps in some "mental realm" where Nimoy's Spock is... REMEMBER-ing.

I am refering to the part in new hope where Obi wan had to do something on the Death Star I think it was turn off Shield generator or something , I think old Spock will be involved in something liike that. Kinda like the last episode of Voyager when Old Janeway sacrificed her self, I don't know i'm just guessing. i just wonder if the timeline is in the process of being changed by Nero, then Spock may have to interfere with his young self in order to set things right or prevent the change
