Coolest Computer in TOS

macintoshplus-level1-1.jpg

My family had a Macintosh Classic II when I was growing up. Man that computer was awesome. 64MB of storage space IIRC.

Not necessarily the coolest, and def. not the most powerful, but before we start including terminals, let's not forget the mnemonic memory circuit Spock managed to build using stone knives and bearskins.
Spock's homebrew frame-grabber, made from vacuum tubes, parts from a dozen old radios, and featuring a Jacob's Ladder, is also my favorite. It doesn't look too different from what tube-based logic circuits from the 1930's actually looked like.

If user terminals count, I vote for the glowing panel that the stupid Betans thought was a cool Ancient design for a lamp. It's obviously a flat multipurpose interface, just stuck on screenwaster mode! Great idea to put it on the shelf so that Landru could enjoy a perfect view of the secret meeting...

(As for Vaal being fed rocks, there's no correlation between that action and the strength of Vaal's powers. Vaal simply weakens through the action of pulling the starship in, and does so steadily: feeding does not affect this one iota, at least not according to any of the dialogue.)
