I'm surprised there's no thread on this. After being nominated the last two years for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama, Michael Emerson finally won the big prize this year. And it's about bloody time.

Now if only Hugh Laurie could win one... :scream:

Yes! :D

I remember when he lost out to Terry O'Quinn in the year they were both nominated, that he still looked somewhat disappointed, but I hoped he would get his chance soon. Thank goodness that time finally came.

And he even beat The Shat!

Congratulations to Michael Emerson for a well-deserved and long overdue Emmy win! :techman:

I'm glad that the men who played the two best characters on the show (Emerson and Terry O'Quinn) have both received Emmys.

It's funny, the last two years I thought he definitely deserved the win. This year, he did win, but I can't easily recall anything for Ben that really stands out from this season.

Still, glad he finally got one!

so was this Emmy judged on Season 4 or 5 performace? Has to be 5 right?

5th. He was nominated for season 4 last year (episode was "The Shape of Things to Come", of course). I presume that this time it was "Dead is Dead".

I think season 4 was his best season. I wasn't that blown away with Ben in season 3 - not Emerson's fault, but there was too much moustache-twirling supervillainy that didn't make sense, especially in the Hydra episodes. "The Man Behind the Curtain" was great a Ben episode, but many of Ben's strongest scenes in the episode had Sterling Beamon playing him. Season 4, however, was great for Ben and Emerson, especially "The Shape of Things to Come" and the scene of Alex's death.
