Confess, Fletch

Shaka Zulu

Commodore
Commodore
In this delightful comedy romp, Jon Hamm stars as the roguishly charming and endlessly troublesome Fletch, who becomes the prime suspect in a murder case while searching for a stolen art collection. The only way to prove his innocence? Find out which of the long list of suspects is the culprit - from the eccentric art dealer and a missing playboy to a crazy neighbor and Fletch’s Italian girlfriend. Crime, in fact, has never been this disorganized. Featuring: Jon Hamm, Roy Wood Jr., Annie Mumolo, Ayden Mayeri, Lorenza Izzo, Kyle MacLachlan, Marcia Gay Harden Directed by: Greg Mottola

Confess, Fletch

Ap;ogies if this has already been posted.

I quite enjoyed Confess, Fletch. Mottola has already contracted to write the script for Fletch's Fortune (And I think he has completed at least the first draft) so I have my fingers crossed the deal gets done.

My only complaint about Confess is that Fletch seems to have never met Larry before. Which makes it slightly harder to pretend all of his previous adventures at the Tribune have already happened.

I enjoyed it, I think Jon Hamm did a fine job, and he was funny, too, which is always surprising after his serious tone for Don Draper on Mad Men. A sequel could be fun, but considering this didn't play anywhere near me (I think the closest theater I saw it listed was at Bryan / College Station when I went out to see Star Trek: First Contact last year), I doubt it will happen, unless its direct to streaming.

I've been listening to the unabridged audio versions. The most recent one being Fletch and the Widow Bradley. They're quite good and the guy who narrates is perfect for Fletch. I also like his portrayal of older, authority characters. On the subject of CF, I thought it was a streaming film? I don't think it was ever released in cinemas here in the UK.

I would be shocked if they make another
They've paid the writer/director to actually pen the script. I know that means nothing in terms of the movie itself getting made, but I'll take any good news I can get.
