With Star Trek Beyond about to open, it's time to remind everyone to please be careful not to spoil anything for those who wish to remain unspoiled (including your humble moderator).
This means spoiler information in posts, titles, sig lines, location fields, avatar images--anything that hasn't shown up as an image or dialogue in one of the trailers or on the cover of some national magazine. Any detail or story point which could even possibly be considered a spoiler.
If you wish to discuss spoilery information about the film, hie thee over to the Star Trek XI+ forum, where they have a shiny spoiler thread just for you.
But here in ENT, if you want to bring up a spoiler about the film, please use spoiler tags. You can use the spoiler button (the "insert" button that looks like a cross) and follow the prompts.
Or you can manually code your spoiler (delete the asterisks):
[*spoiler]spoilery information[/*spoiler]
[*spoiler=innocuous title]spoilery information[*/spoiler]
THE PREVIEW BUTTON IS YOUR FRIEND. Please preview your posts before publishing them, to make sure your spoilers are properly hidden away.
If you're posting a new thread which will contain spoilers (or likely will contain them at some future point) mark it clearly in the subject line with the Spoiler prefix, or just write it in using ALL CAPS: [SPOILERS]
For the first two weeks after the film opens, posting naked spoilers will not just be discourteous;
it will be a WARNABLE OFFENSE.
Thanks, and enjoy the film!
~Thanks to M'Sharak and Locutus of Bored for their input.~
