Computer Won't Recognize iPod

So, all of a sudden my computer won't recognize my iPod. When I plug the iPod into my PS3 or my car, it automatically syncs. However, when I plug it into my laptop, it will not recognize it as an external device. My laptop will still recognize other devices, though. I've updated all my drivers, uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes, pitched a temper tantrum, but nothing seems to work. I'm utterly confused.

Well, if anybody cares... it was the cable. I ordered one a few days ago and it finally came in today and everything works fine. I don't know why that one wouldn't work with my just my laptop, but whatever. Everything is right in the world again.
