Looks like they will be making a community film.
I didn't think it would happen.

Wow. I just rewatched the series recently, and while I feel the last season is a bit of a step down, I wouldn't say no to one last rodeo, though hopefully it will involve as much of the original regulars as possible.

I'm a latecomer to Community, having only watched it the first time a few years ago, so I can't imagine what everyone else is feeling after all of these years of waiting.

That said, I'm very excited about this news! Even though Yvette Nicole Brown hasn't been announced, I'm hopeful she'll be involved and more than just a cameo. Donald Glover, too, but that seems less likely (although Atlanta is airing its final season right now...).

But I don't blame the writers and actors for that, the Frankie Dart character came in to make the school sane and the sanity wasn't as funny as the insanity. And the Elroy character never really had chemistry with the cast the way the original cast and Buzz Hickey did.

I wonder about John Oliver and Jonathan Banks.

If they can get Donald Glover to agree to appear but not make a full commitment, I'm wondering if they'll somehow make the story about the quest to save Troy and Levar Burton from pirates.

I'm pretty sure I saw Community before I got into Better Call Saul (still never seen nor planning to see Breaking Bad), so it was kind of crazy seeing Banks in the former before having a sense of why he's amazing and terrifying. It bothered me that AFAICR they never even explained where Hickey went; he was just gone.

It would be bothersome if there was a movie and Professor Duncan didn't show up at all. Even a cameo would be better than nothing.

I'd also be disappointed if Glover didn't come back. Having Burton show up as well would, for my money, be a bit of a coup.

I think there are a few spots where it showed he was still a teacher at the college. Like when Abed made a "Punch him in the heart" reference and said he got writing help from a real ex-cop. And at one point I believe you see his nameplate on a door when you're cleaning it. He's just not on the committee anymore.

Although my comments were not meant to suggest that I thought Esposito might appear in the new movie, there really is no reason the writers might find it difficult to plausibly write his character into the new movie because Pierce is dead.

They could use this as an initial ptrmise for an appearance by Pierce’s halt sib, “Pierce is dead, life goes on.”

He was in two episodes one of which was a gas leak season episode, so he’s probably not a high priority as they will probably focus on the OG main characters other than Pierce.

Kieth is working with Joel on Stargirl.

At the very least, they can record some dumb stuff on Joel's cell phone during their down time.

Kieth is also the President on Rick and Morty, so he works with Dan.
