so when someone tries to get another person on the communitcator, how come the person being contacted is already able to hear the person's voice even before the caller has mentioned who he was contacting in order for the computer to properly route the call. like if you had a scene with riker on camera and you immediately hear on his communicator "picard to riker." it's not like there's even a delay because if you are hearing it from the sender's side and picard says "picard to riker," you will hear riker's response immediately after. that's amazing processing and response time for the computer.

i might not be making sense. i just had too much coffee... >_<
