Commercial made for dogs will air on British TV tonight

A commercial made for dogs will air during tonight’s episode of the soap “Emmerdale”. The advert for dog food, featuring a pack of dogs re-enacting scenes from “The Italian Job”, will contain high pitched sounds that are inaudible to humans but which our canine friends should hear.

I can’t quite make up my mind if this is really taking the piss.

This doesn't make sense. Most consumer electronics top out at a frequency of 20khz. A dog whistles lowest note is somewhat above that. It's obviously a marketing ploy to get people to gather around the telly together with their dog and watch the advert, possibly replay it on the DVR as well.
