Comic Con Q&A with Wonder Woman, Gail Simone

show-runner? There's a Wonder Woman show? Cartoon?

^Simone currently has the writing duties on Diana's eponymous monthly title, hence the term show-runner.

An unusually positive interview with Simone. The last question sums up how I feel about the stuff. Just tell the stories, there's no need to keep harping on about the same things forever.

Wouldn't the comic book counterpart of a show runner be the editor? Or maybe just not use TV terms for comics?

It sucks Gail is leaving the book...I've enjoyed her work but at least she'll be back on Birds of Prey! It'll be interesting to see what JMS does with Diana. I enjoyed that Evolution of Wonder Woman art that was in the interview.

I wish that I could've gone to Comic Con to see her, but I forgot to buy any tickets!:(

If you're referring to the Toronto Comic Con this past weekend, there were tix at the door--the place was only crowded on Saturday, but Friday and Sunday were pretty dead (this is an innaugural Con so they may need a couple years to get people aware of it). On the plus side we didn't have to line up for anything.

There was way too many wrestling guests IMO (not really into wrestling personally) and the only people I was there to see was Jewel Staite, Kandyse McClure (BSG), Luciana Carro (BSG/Caprica) and Magda Apanowicz (Caprica).

BTW, Stan Lee is a confirmed guest for FanExpo in Toronto at the end of August, that should draw a lot of people.

Actually, it's really not an inaugural con, just the new incarnation of the old Paradise Comic Con...but enough about that, I can't believe I missed my girls Jewel Staite & Kandyse McClure!:(

I hate Fan Expo with every fiber of my being, and I would rather have gone to see Stan at this con instead. I only went to Fan Expo last year to see Leonard Nimoy (for what I knew, and has now been confirmed as) his last appearance at any convention (maybe he'll come back to Toronto at this year's Fan Expo, but I doubt it.*) I might go to Fan Expo this year, but only if there's anybody really interesting to see; if not, forget it.

*Speaking of Mr. Nimoy, I'd wish that he and Bill Shatner would at least try to come to a convention like Polaris; he and the Shat would get an earful and an eyeful of what a real Star Trek con is like, instead of crap like Creation or Hobby Star.

^^^A new incarnation in the sense that Wizard 'bought' the comic con and added a bunch of wrestlers, reality TV stars (ugh) and models, but I get what you mean.

BTW Kandyse McClure was awesome, so was Magda Apanowicz...for some odd reason there was no Q and A with Jewel Staite. We asked her why and she said she was totally willing but the organizers didn't approach her to do one.

I agree with you about seeing Shatner or Nimoy at Polaris, but I'm pretty sure TCON has nowhere near the $$$ to attract someone as famous as them. It would be great if they somehow pulled it off, but then I'm not sure if the hotel they booked could handle the extra amount of people those two would attract.
