Anyone else tired of these roast? The last five or six I have seen (watching the Larry the Cable Guy one right now) have been bad.

Almost always featuring a grou pf cerain comedians who are so fucking. unfunny it's a wonder they keep getting to be on television, and I am sick and tired of hearing them and their filthy mouths insuting each other and that fat unfunny bitch's crotch. It's at the point now where I want to stop tuning in regardless of who is being roasted, and right now anytime that unfunny fat lady (Lisa Lampanelli) is on, I mute it.
They spend almost no time at all roasting the roastee.

And each time almost no one there is actually friends of aqauintences of the roastee. I'm scratching my head wondering why these people who are deeply unfunny and don't know the person personally, keep getting to roast people.

This isn't even "good" or "okay" blue comedy, it's disgusting trash talking that makes me want to turn the channel. Anyone else with me?

The original Friar's Roasts were much better, but I still enjoy the CC Roasts. I just wish they picked better people than Pamela Anderson, Flava Flav, and Larry the Cable Guy. Still, I enjoy the regulars like Jeff Ross and the rude lady.

The Denis Leary roast was fucking awesome.

Especially Denis' rebuttal. That time he was talking about Lenny Clarke and the whole "Fuck the Kennedys" thing... :guffaw:

The "blue" comedy doesn't bother me as much as this does. I've seen some of the old Dean Martin roasts, and while I don't think they were particularly funny either (for every one good joke they show you in those half-hour infomercials, there's 3-4 stinkers in the actual broadcast), at least you knew that these guys were all buddies, and so the insults weren't meant to be mean-spirited. The CC roasts, on the other hand... I really had to wonder where the hell Andy Dick knew Shatner from. The fact that most of the people on the dais spent more time roasting each other than they did roasting the roastee spoke volumes.

This was my major complaint too. And maybe I'm out of touch, but I didn't recognize a good number of them. On the other hand, having Jason Alexander and Patton Oswalt for William Shatner made sense, it was the others that ruined it.

It would get pretty monotonous if they only roasted the man of honor, though. Variety is the spice of life.

To be fair, when you don't know/care about half of the roasters, it's tedious either way.

I don't watch them all, but I want them to keep doing them because some are good...I enjoyed the Bill Shatner and Bob Saget roasts.

Well, it's my personal opinion that Andy Dick ruins everything anyway.

Only watch 'em for the Lisa Lampanelli bits; sure, she's rude and crude, but that's why I like her! :D

Don't watch them. I've nothing against crude humor but it seems like these things that is all they are. Just one filthy, vile, joke after another. I think it's funnier, and vastly more creative, to crack jokes that don't wholy revolve around fillatio.

The William Shatner roast was the worst one of my memory. Ugh.

Lisa Lampanelli is like the Collin Quinn of comedy -- deeply unfunny and fucking annoying each time she opens her mouth.

The Shatner roast was very disappointing and I kept wondering where some of his other Trek cast mates were, namely Nemoy.

And it's not even like they are trying to spice things up by making fun of other people there, it's like some kind of instant dumb requirement that feels forced and out of place each time. And how many unecessary Jeff Foxworthy is a pedophile jokes do we need during his roast anyway?

I don't care who they roast next time, 'cause I won't be tuning in.

^^ Everybody from Star Trek despises Shatner though :p Takei only went on there to chew the shit out of him :D

Larry The Cable Guy is a black hole of comedy, but I saw this last night and it actually elicited a few chuckles. Probably since it was the first roast of someone I legitimately can't stand.

The Shatner Roast was pretty funny too. I could take or leave the rest of them.

Yeah I saw this last lone and I was stunned at what I was watching.

I couldn't agree more. I'm not a prude by any means, but good Lord they went WAY over the line. As far as I could tell, the whole point of the roast was to tell the most disgusting "joke" about the rest of the roaters and to be as vulgar as humanly possible.

I really felt sorry for Foxworthy because you could tell he was not comfortable up there.

I find the "humor" to be hurtful and crass. None of it makes me laugh-cringe, yes, but laugh, no. It is a sad excuse for a program. Go back and catch the Friar's Club roasts of Dean Martin or Bob Hope-now that's how you do it. With style.

The Shat roast had my favorite Trek joke ever "Star Trek was very innovative in many ways. For starters it had an Asian that actually knew how to drive. And a black woman who constantly looked a TV screen who wasn't always screaming at it."

Lisa Lampenelli, what a cunt, her whole act is "i'll screw that n*gger, and that n*gger, and that N*gger"
