College Basketball 2025-2026

College basketball has been really the only sport I more than casually follow. Love the game far more than NBA. This is likely due growing up in a medium sized city (Tucson, AZ metro pop. 1,050,000), with no pro teams, and a dominant college basketball team going back to the mid80s to present (University of Arizona).

This season is looking really exciting with a ton of really solid looking teams. I mean, right now I'd say Duke, Purdue, Iowa State, Arizona, Michigan all look fully complete enough to cut down the nets in the Championship. The level of competition and talent levels of the top 30+ teams is really the best I've seen in many years this early. As much as I didn't care for this new NIL era of paying players, it really has made the actual gameplay really exciting. Reminds me of 90s CBB. Sadly, I'm sure NIL era will really hit the smaller schools hard...

What teams do the TrekBBS denizens support?

College basketball just had its best November ever. This needs to be the scheduling standard moving forward

snippet:

Looking ahead to the rest of the nonconference calendar — even into February, when Duke and Michigan will meet — and it's plausible we could get as many as 50 (!) games between ranked teams in nonconference play prior to the NCAA Tournament.

This is the best schedule to start a college basketball season ever.
