Cloverfield 2 trailer attached to Iron Man 2?

They did something similar for the original Cloverfield. I think the statue of liberty scene was the teaser a full year before the movie came out.
 
I enjoyed Cloverfield but I'm not sure how a sequel would work unless another city was attacked, a bit of a cheap and meaningless way to do a sequel.
 
Wasn't one of the ideas that it would chronicle the same night, but with different people?
 
Uhh so instead of a little minidv camcorder this this will be shot on Super 8? I'm guessing this will be a prequel, haha

that or watch it will be a trailer for his new show that got picked up by NBC titled Undercovers

The trailer shows a bunch of teenagers shooting material on a Super 8 camera and when they develop the film, they find an alien creature in one of the reels. It is purportedly connected to Cloverfield, but will act as a prequel rather than a sequel.
 
Hmm yea I don't get it either, premise kind of reminds me of Sliver with Billy Balwin and whatsherface, mrs spreadylegs from basic instinct who's names escaping me at the moment

Looks like it has nothing to do with Cloverfield


  • J.J. Abrams and Steven Spielberg began collaborating on a hush-hush project a year ago called "Super 8".

  • Abrams has written the original script and will direct the film this Fall. The budget will be in the $45 million-$50 million range.

  • The film HAS NOTHING to do with "Cloverfield". It will be shot traditionally, NOT handicam style like "Cloverfield".

  • The 90-second trailer was shot independently of the actual film shot about a month ago and has been put assembled in the past few weeks.

Oh well. It still looks like an interesting movie and I think JJ now knows there is still interest in a Cloverfield movie.
