Cloud Minders Audio Blunder Query

Methuselah Flint

Fleet Captain
Hi guys,
I seem to remember reading somewhere on a review of TOS-R when it was first broadcast, that they fixed the audio blunder post-teaser when Kirk speaks but the shot of him accompanying this has his mouth closed. "Who are you...?" etc. The 'fix' was simply using another shot from elsewhere.
I never saw the syndicated broadcast of this TOS-R episode, but on the DVDs/Blu Ray's the error is still present.
Am I imagining I read this, or did the original broadcast indeed get a 'fix'?
(I know they changed the flame from orange back to blue in Paradise Syndrome, for instance.)

I remember that scene from the videos I taped off the TV in 1980!!! I never noticed on the DVDs to be honest but always assumed it was a cock-up made by the BBC!!!

The last time I saw it, the ventriloquism effect was still there. :( Season 3's budget got slashed worse than Jason in Texas with his cousin's chainsaw, so these various gaffes would just have to do. And this is on a show that had already flipped the film neg if a character had to look in the opposite direction to what was filmed in order to save cost. Sci-fi in the 1960s was a different beast, especially based on perception.

Well, audio and visual gaffes weren't confined to the third season. They had less to do with the budget and more to do with the time crunch.

Charlie X: "When I came aboard!!!"
The Corbomite Maneuver: "One minute..." (dead silence) "I knew he would."

At least Shatner's stunt doubles were better in the third season.

Acid Grass!!! I wonder if there was some kind of correlation in there somewhere? Especially knowing the Hippy style of life in the sixties! :wtf:
