Closeups of new sonic screwdriver

You know fans are tired of waiting for the show to return when they nitpick a redesigned sonic screwdriver. 
What kind of fans would we be if we didn't?
I don't like it. The Eccleston/Tennant sonic screwdriver had a sor of simple elegance to it. This one looks unnecessarily complicated.

Its intersting as to what it will look like onscreen. After the post production team get to it.
Besides, River Song may end up with the one that Eleven is seen destroying in the trailer, explaining then why Songs version was heavily modified or, well, repaired.
Also, didnt the production team use the toy pen version in some high octane scenes in Tennants episodes as it was bigger and more durable?

While I liked the previous design, the new one is more my speed. It looks very alien to me.
