"Weapons Factory"

Luminara and Anakin act as decoys to divert new enemy super tanks, while Padawans Barriss Offee and Ahsoka attempt to destroy a Separatist droid factory.

Yay! More genocide on Geonosis!

Bariss Offee's debut on the series.

The interest here is Luminara's relationship with her padawan compared to Anakin and Ahsoka.

I wonder if that tank design will show up in the future. Without a trusty bridge to destroy they could be pivotal in future land battles.

I hate the Jedi philosophy. "Let your padawan go Anakin." Blah! If I were a Jedi myself I would have left the Order long ago.

Good, not great. We're starting to see more of Anakin's "dark side" in that he simple refuses to let the people he cars for go. Not a bad trait, per say, but a bad one from the Jedi point of view. Anakin and Ahsoka really were in full "Big bro, little sis" mode this episode which was a nice contrast to Lumenaria and her Padawan. I thought for a moment that Anakin was going to tap the dark side and lift the rubble himself-- which would have been a nice little "tip of the hat" to what's coming for the boy.

Very good episode although not as good as last week's show, which may have been the series highpoint thus far.

I rather like the Luminara character and her interaction with Anakin is quite good. Still, I sure as hell wouldn't want her leading my rescue if she's going to give up that easy. At least it provided a good look at Anakin's attachment issues. Nice interaction between Ahsoka and Bariss. Obviously knew they wouldn't die but that was a pretty deep moment when they were both prepared to do so. The usual great action as well.

^I don't think Luminara was giving up; I think, rather, that she sensed Anakin's attachment issues and was trying to convince him to prepare himself to let go if it became necessary. In other words, she was stressing the letting-go part as a counterpoint to what he was feeling, not because it was the primary thing she herself was feeling.

Good not great episode. I'm disappointed there wasn't more character interaction tween Asoka and Barris. Comparing their Masters and their training styles, bitching and moaning, etc. Maybe Asoka learns to appreciate Anakin more when she sees how cold and controlling Luminara is. ... BTW I was just looking at the episode guide and something shocked me. Has Grievous not appeared since 1X10?! Have they quietly just stopped using Grievous and Ventress altogether? I mean sure they overused them WAY too much in the early episodes but I'd still look to see them occasionally!

You can only show Grievous running away so many times, and duels with Assaj that end up a draw.

Actually, 6 episodes into this season, only Sidious has been seen.

I really liked this one, though I voted good not great. I thought the character interaction was pretty good, and I have to say, some of the character/facial animation seemed especially subtle and superb. I know that every time they render one of these episodes they learn more and more, and it shows.

Anakin is definitely having "let-go" issues, as well as your average control-freak issues (not letting Ahsoka finish a single sentence in her briefing).

Wasn't that bad. I enjoyed the episode and, strangely, I thought for a moment that they may have killed off Ahsoka but then - remembering the Expanded Universe - this isn't how Bariss dies so I wrote that out.

Interestingly not too long ago a novel was released about zombies on a Star Destroyer and it seems like next week we're getting zombies on Geonosis.

They wouldn't have this problem if they introduced some disposable Jedi for Grievous and Ventress to kill. It worked for Grievous in the micro-series.

Um just because something is in the Expanded Universe doesn't mean that the guys doing the Clone Wars can't contradict it as the Karen Traviss thing shows.

^ Her death wasn't depicted in the movie. I think it was shown in a comic. (On Felucia, yes.)
