Clip of Marina Sirtis

Mods I don't know if clips from Youtube are allowed; if not remove it or modify the thread....

I found this while scoping Youtube:

I found Miss Sirtis to be a brilliant actor in this short scene...(Especially as she acts in an un-Troi-like manner!)

Since many of us on this board think about how past actors/actresses might fit into the nuUniverse, I'm thinking she could portray a cool Romulan or Vulcan....(without the silly unisex bowl cuts, of course!)

T'Pau comes to mind, but I'm definitely opened to an original character....

I actually didn't recognize her at first, and oh yes, she still looks good.

Interesting clip...unfortunately time has not been kind to Marina.
She is in her 50s y'know. Most women would kill to look that good now.
Yeah, she looks pretty damn good for her age... or any age, for that matter. She just doesn't have sexy clothes or hairstyle in the scene since the character is obviously not supposed to be like that.

Anyway, it is great to see her playing a character who is something like an anti-Troi. :)

Also, she looks tired in that video. She probably was just being in character or something.

So you prefer your prison matrons to be all gussied up?

That's a differend type of female prison movie.

^^ I hope someone's saving all your posts. They're gold! They have their own haiku form I think.

About the clip, she looks fine, and you can see that if they give a Trek actor a little more to work with they can do a good job. Saying "Shields at maximum!" or "I sense hostility," is not something easy to act with.

i envy you for your dedication to marina sirtis. i watch her pathetic act in encounter at farpoint, looks like the overacting in the old silent-movie times, and just can't convince myself to like her. besides, newcomers to tng are well advised to skip this episode, or to watch it only after bulding up a sufficient tolerance treshold by watching many good episodes first.
