Classic Who on iTunes

I've just noticed that iTunes in the UK has some of the classic serials available for download at from £2.99 to £7.99 each (depending on the number of episodes):

Creature from the Pit
Invisible Enemy
Nightmare of Eden
Pyramids of Mars
The Ark in Space
The Deadly Assassin
The Hand of Fear
The Leisure Hive
The Sontaran Experiment
The Sun Makers
The Talons of Weng-Chiang
Underworld

Interesting to note that some of these aren't available on DVD yet -- such as "The Sun Makers" and "Nightmare of Eden" (£4.99 each). I wonder what the quality is like and whether there's been any restoration. There aren't any commentry tracks or other extras, so the price is a bit steep for one or two of the serials that are available on DVD.

Anyone in the know care to comment on the quality of the downloads compared with the DVDs?

You should be able to play short clips from each episode. At least you can on the iTunes we use.

I haven't bought an entire episode yet, but from the clips the quality looks decent enough.

Both the sound and vision quality seem fine for playing on an iPod/IPhone. Side-by-side comparison with a DVD (The Talons of Weng-Chiang), however, showed the effects of additional compression. I think I'll wait for the DVDs with the extra features.
