Classic action figures wish lists

All-Seeing I

Commander
Red Shirt
I'm eagerly looking forward to receiving my 4th, 5th and 6th Doctor figures shortly, and although the other figures in the range are enticing, due to limited shelf space I'm going to have to be very choosy when selecting other figures to stand guard in front of my DVDs. So I've thought carefully about it, and whittled it down to the list below:

Doctors 1-3 and 7-8
Time Lord in ceremonial collar and robes with Chancellery Guard
Female Eldrad (perhaps moulded in translucent plastic with glitter within, similar to the Star Trek Playmates transporter figures)
Omega (The Three Doctors version) with Gell Guard (perhaps with light-up weapon claw?)
Lytton in Dalek mercenary trooper uniform
Revenge-style Cyberman
Power/Evil-style Dalek
Master boxed set (Delgado, Pratt, Ainley and Roberts)
Ambassador of Death (in spacesuit)
Solos mutant
Pirate Captain with Polyphase Avatron
Sutekh (with removable mask)
Stengos being transformed into a Dalek (with light-up base)
The Valeyard

So if you're under similar constraints, be it lack of shelf space, lack of cash, or you're just simply picky, share your wish list with us. And, just for fun, add a short list of figures you have no desire to see, never mind purchase. Here's mine:

Monoid
Sensorite
Menoptera
Hur, Za and Old Mother boxed set
Milo Clancey
Kroton
2nd Doctor as Atlantean washerwoman/3rd Doctor as Welsh cleaning lady twin pack
Spiridon (minus purple fur cloak)
Nimon
Aunt Vanessa
The Sylvest Twins twin pack

To help you out, here is what's coming in Wave 2:

7th Doctor
8th Doctor
Ice Warrior
Morbius Monster
Mummy with Jar
Tenth Planet Cyberman
Voc Robot
Another build-a-figure (unknown what it will be)

Some guy submitted to DoctorWhoToys.net what he claims is the line-up for Wave 3. Take with a grain of salt:

2nd Doctor
3rd Doctor
Special Weapons Dalek
The TARDIS
Bessie
The Whomobile
Build-A-Figure: Sutekh

Only half are actually action figures. :shifty: I'm waiting for the official announcement before buying any of this (though I would hope that we'd still get the Doctors).

Actually, this kind of stuff is being discussed here... :techman:

That thread is about the WETA collectibles, not the action figures, so technically the action figure talk is off-topic. It makes sense for the topic of action figures to have their own thread. ;)

Man, I hope that Bessie figure isn't TOO expensive.

Lets see...

I'll skip the long-ass list of companions I'd like to see.

Delgado and Ainley Masters.
The Rani
Cybermen through the years set.
Zygon set with Skarasen hand puppet. (okay, not really but I couldn't resist the joke) :)
Raston robot
Season 18 Doctor
Melkur
A Tractator

No offense intended, of course. Just thought he would like to see where most of the information has been posted already. :)

As I said in the other thread, I just received my variant green-jumper Eccleston figure, and the ComiCon "exclusive" Timecrash Davison-with-celery and Tennant-in-blue set. Worth every penny.

I have pre-ordered Doctors 4, 5, and 6 in anticipation of August 15th (and in anticipation of the overseas shipping charges  ). I plan to get every Wave One figure, as I really want that K1 Robot.

Here are some links about the different waves of figures, with pics:

Oh yeah, the "Wish List" part. Hmmm. I don't really care, as long as I get all Ten Doctors in their various states. I think having a release of all Nine Docs in their predecessors/regeneration outfits would be neat. Naturally, the 1st Doc wouldn't have a variant, and Eccleston in McGann's outfit should be another Rare Variant Exclusive.

Just to take a shot, though:

  • Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart
  • Castrovalva 3-Pack : Tegan/Nyssa/Adric with Zero Cabinet accessory
  • Romana Regeneration 2-Pack : Romana I and Romana II w/K-9 accessory
  • 6th Doctor Variant Exclusive Big Finish/Alternate Media Outfit (Let Colin decide what that should be)
  • Black-&-White two-pack: Features b&w-tone Hartnell and Troughton Doctors (w/full-sized replica Hartnell Ring to wear!)
  • Leela (leather skins w/knife)
  • Leela (Variant Exclusive "Dress" figure from Talons of Weng-Chiang w/Elephant Gun accessory)
  • 3rd Doctor Variant Exclusive ("Shower" figure from Spearhead from Space. Figure comes barechested with showercap, toweled waist, and Royal Marines tatoo ;) )
  • 4th Doctor Variant Exclusive "Robe" outfit from Robot) and Dr. Harry Sullivan Two-Pack
  • UNIT Era Multi-Pack (Features Sgt. Benton, Mike Yates, Liz Shaw, Jo Grant, Roger Delgado's Master, and UNIT Solider w/Bessie accessory) (Most expensive pack, I'm sure)
  • 8th Doctor & Charley 2-pack

Just some thoughts... :)

I would like to see different versions of the Fourth Doctor, at the very least, a season 18 version.

I'd also like to see variations of the Fifth (hat) and the Seventh (hat and/or umbrella).

I'd love to see the first three Doctors as well although, since all three actors are deceased, there's nothing immediately planned for release, likely due to licensing rights and negotiating with their respective estates.

Apparently, from what I gather skimming the OG forums (pardon, the DW forums), Character Options doesn't have (immediate plans) for classic companions either.

Of course, sales of the classic figures will determine future waves.

I hope it all does very well. I think the Classic Figures line will give younger kids more exposure to the Classic Era than the more expensive DVDs. Either way, who knew I would live long enough to see Doctor Who produce a really nice figure set? How awesome that, 20+ years after his time, we finally have a Colin Baker figure? This truly is a new Golden Age for the Doctor Who franchise... :techman:

A few things for the wishlist ...

1 - Doctor Six with his blue costume from the Revelation of the Daleks episode
2 - The Valyard
3 - The Master (one for each regen/host)
4 - Adric
5 - Adric variation without his star pin
6 - Doctor One
7 - Doctor One, as seen in Five Doctors
8 - Doctor One in grayscale
9 - Doctor Two
10 - Doctor Two in grayscale
11 - Older Doctor Who as seen in Two Doctors
12 - Jamie with fabric kilt ... anatomically correct version
13 - Sarah Jane Smith with hat from "Robot"
14 - Cyber Leader as seen in Tomb of the Cybermen
15 - Susan
16 - as mentioned already, a Romana two-pack. One of One with her furry white coat, and one of Two in her City of Death costume.
17 - Grace, to go with Doctor Eight.
18 - Yeti
19 - The Brig.
20 - old-school Sontarans
21 - Guardian two-pack, White and Black Guardians.
22 - The Rani

I can dream.

My classic series set arrived today (except for ColinDoc who as usual is late for something ;) ) and they are uniformly excellent, really bringing back memories of the old era and a whole lot more exciting than most of the new series stuff.

Looking forward to wave 2 (wonder what that build-a-figure could be - I'm trying to think of something that's as segmented as K-1 robot but can only come up with Drathro or maybe the original Dalek emperor). Regarding other old series stuff they might bring out, I've got a feeling there's very little I wouldn't buy but on my special wish list (and excluding actor / actress likenesses which would require obtaining licensing rights) I'd love to see:

Draconian
Ogron
Drahvins and Chumblies
Dominators and Quarks
Cessair of Diplos in Costume with companion Ogri
Cybermen through the ages
Likewise Sontarans
Scaroth
Azal
Ice Warrior & Ice Lord
Yartek of the Voord
Peladon set with Arcturus, Alpha Centauri and Aggedor...

... god I could go on, the possibilities are limitless

Damn, I didn't even take that into consideration; hopefully they can sort something out, can't have an incomplete set of Docs! I suppose that puts the kibosh on a Delgado Master figure as well for the same reason?

You've come up with some good suggestions for figures- I might have to try an squeeze an Ogron onto the shelf; also like the Cessair and Ogri idea, although the Ogri would have to light up!

How about figures from the Peter Cushing movies, would you be interested in them? Cushing's Doc of course, maybe a Roboman and several colourful Dalek variants.

Also liked the idea of a Colin Baker in his blue Big Finish outfit; perhaps more Big Finish characters could be released, similar to that Star Wars range of figures (Legacy or Unleashed or something like that, featuring EU characters). How about some Unbound Doctors, or a Monan, C'rizz or Benny and Irving Braxiatel?

My Wish List got printed (at the bottom)! Awesome! :techman:

Oh, I dunno. How about the unaired pilot version of the First Doctor, complete with spectacles...? :p

and Eccleston in McGann's outfit should be another Rare Variant Exclusive.

That's a great idea! Or alternatively, Eccleston in that outfit he's wearing in the "Titanic" photo from "Rose," complete with top hat?

Nice! Also, I had forgotten about the unaired pilot. I've never really watched that, to be honest. Is there a lot of difference?

Zygon set with Skarasen hand puppet. (okay, not really but I couldn't resist the joke)
...Drashig
:D

My list:

Wirrn
Davros
Davros head in a jar version from Revelation of the Daleks
Sil with Guards - "aquarium" version (from Vengeance)
Yrcanos with Peri - wedding dress version
Bust of Peri - literally, her bust
Turlough
White and Black Guardians (Season 20 versions)
Key To Time puzzle ( I actually have one a d/loaded off the net, and, yes, they do all make a cube)

K9
4th Doctor is Deerstalker outfit (Talons of WC)
Maren from Morbius
Mummy from Pyramids
Zygons
Tardis console room set - with interchangeable versions of console and walls so you can build the console room you like best or your very own mutant hybrid.

2ndary console room playset
TARDIS interior playset - the walls can interlock and you can configure the floors into corridors and rooms...w/furniture for rooms

Cybermen through the years.
Cyberized human (Lytton?) from Attack
Sheraz Jek
Tracator
Silurian
Sea Devil
4th Doctor - Season 18 outfit
Argolin and Foamasi
Melkur
Kroton
Dominator
Yeti - both versions

There, that should do it.

Nice! Also, I had forgotten about the unaired pilot. I've never really watched that, to be honest. Is there a lot of difference?

Do you mean the very first, way back in '63?

I've watched both since they're on the DVD in the Beginning boxset. Not a lot of difference really, certainly nothing that sticks out in my mind. Mind you, it was last summer or so I watched but iirc, it was just minor differences in scenes and dialogue between the "Pilot" and "An Unearthly Child".

I'd love to see the first three Doctors as well although, since all three actors are deceased, there's nothing immediately planned for release, likely due to licensing rights and negotiating with their respective estates.

Damn, I didn't even take that into consideration; hopefully they can sort something out, can't have an incomplete set of Docs! I suppose that puts the kibosh on a Delgado Master figure as well for the same reason?

Well, I don't think anything is kiboshed per se, just that it might be a while because you're quite right, can't have a complete set without all the Doctors. We can certainly hope.

By the way, just received the tracking email... my SDCC exclusives are on the way... The 9th Doctor with the green jumper and the Timecrash 5th & 10th.

I ordered them from Pixel Barrel (probably your best bet in Canada) because the retailers take about 6 months to get the SDCC figures (at least they did last year) and I didn't want to wait... plus I HAD to have that celery. :D I will wait to get my 4th and 6th Doctors until they're in the stores here though.
