One: I wonder if this will skip the UK again like the last cinema release did.

Doubtful. This is certainly going to be higher profile than a screening of a two-part story ten months after it aired on TV. And besides, isn't Sherlock's holiday special being screened in the UK?

well, I am just trying to play it safe. After all, there might be fans out there who want to watch the special, completely fresh, with no info about it at all.

I doubt that will even be possible, unless you sever all internet connection for the month of December. Even then, I'm 90% certain the season finale is going to include a mid-credits scene featuring River much like last year's did with Nick Frost.

Christmas is on a Friday this year. So instead of watching it on Friday, Saturday or even Sunday comfortably at home you can go out in the middle of winter to see it on a Monday or Tuesday night? Woo-hoo!
