Sad news, Chuck Yeager has passed away, of course he was made famous by breaking the sound barrier in level flight and of course being test pilot he broke many more speed and altitude records.
    RIP Chuck.

Guess this is the fitting forum for this.

Hey - once again - 97 is an incredible age for an "old, bold pilot"!

ISTR that there are two types of test pilot; those who died young in flight, and those who live long (as they were in peak condition).
Actually, there is a third type. Die in their sixties by pushing too hard for the next 'mission' (Irwin, Conrad...). And cancer has no respect for other good health.

97 is a good long life. Fly well on the other side.
