Chuck Summer Thread - Chuck vs. Comic-Con 2009

This past weekend, Comic-Con 2009 featured a Chuck panel with most of the cast in the opening credits of the show (yet again, no Anna! WTF is up with her not being included?) and the show's two creators. For those of you who missed it, Hulu.com has kindly posted the panel online here.

The video looks to have picked up directly following a live Jeffster performance of the Queen classic Fat Bottom Girls. Luckily, I found the performance over on YouTube.

I really miss seeing this show every week. I don't know about the rest of you, but I am hoping that the new Jay Leno show tanks big time and we get Chuck's third season to start in November instead of March of next year. To prepare for such an eventuality, the show is set to resume production in August. We may also wind up getting more than the initial 13 episodes ordered, as there are currently contingency plans at NBC to run new episodes of Chuck all through next summer. Fingers are crossed.

I hope it tanks bigtime in any case. What a STUPID idea. Yay, five hours a week of Mr. Vanilla.

Resurrecting thread...

The plans they have for this season are potentially awesome as well as potentially groan-worthy. They've been rather generous with the spoilers at least for the first episode...and the developments are interesting.

In general I like the direction they're taking, but I just hope they have a plan in place to wrap everything up if the series gets canned after the initial 13 next spring (UGH! 7 months!)

I just hope they have episodes ready to go when Leno bombs in two months.

If they film an episode a week (and they have 4 scripts written already), they should have 7 or 8 ready to go by November.

Considering they started shooting the beginning of last week, if they do one a week they should be finishing up their 13th episode by the first week of November. Pretty nice for them. If nothing changes at NBC by then, they will have wrapped their season in time for a long holiday break.

Personally, I am hoping Leno tanks and the Chuck crew gets called back in January to shoot the back 9 episodes for this season, stretching it out to the full 22 episodes we equate to a full season.

I actually don't know what would get us a back 9. NBC has only said that Chuck would premiere early if something gets cancelled. I guess that if the episodes come back to higher ratings we'll get picked up for a full season.

There are some things I don't like about what they've planned for season 3 but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't gutted that we aren't a month away from
Chuck vs. the Pink Slip.
