It is Chuckday #5 of season four. And it looks like we may get the first episode this season centered around our favorite man who can make a grunt mean anything, Col. John Casey. And it looks like we also get another Masterful choice for a guest star too to help us through the long, dark knight... er, night.

The team must fake Casey's death in an elaborate ruse to capture his former special ops team members who've gone rogue. Eric Roberts guest stars.

I just finished watching the episode and I have to give it a Morgan. Not bad, but not terribly exceptional either. I thought the scene of Morgan inducing Casey out of his drug induced paralysis was funny, if not predictable. And Jeffster to the rescue was a nice touch. But I didn't see anything this episode they haven't done better before. The angst between Morgan and Alex was a bit groan-worthy, but I give it a pass since they fixed it by the end of the episode. It was nice to see Beckman compliment Chuck on his progress as an agent however. It is something that I too have noticed this season, Chuck acting as a veteran agent in many cases. So it doesn't seem like it has been an accident, but part of the writers' plans. See you next Chuckday.

I give it a Chuck for the sheer awesomeness that is John Casey. And the A-Team reference definitely gets a thumbs up.

I enjoyed the "couch lock" bit and when The General complimented Chuck, but the rest was about par for the series.

So Big Mike will be Morgan's stepfather and Casey will be... Morgan's father-in-law? :)

All we need left is Gary Cole to come back... as Morgan's biological father. :p

I gave it an Awesome because it is always fun to see Eric Roberts and for Adam Baldwin using the expression "acting with your eyes" to full effect. I don't think anyone has made laugh as hard or as long using just their eyes.

I actually think Chuck was surprised when Beckman mentioned Casey would be in danger, I don't think he actually thought it through.

Chuck really took charge in this episode, notice how he did lead the team here... he even had Casey asking him about the drug, and Chuck supplied all the info for him, instead of the other way around

It was nice to see Beckman compliment Chuck on his progress as an agent however.

The look on Chuck's face in a matter of seconds as it went from puzzlement that Beckman wanted to talk to him alone, beaming pride that she complimented him on his improvement as an agent, and finally to realization and then horror as he figured out that she was complimenting him for putting the mission before his friends (something that hadn't occurred to him yet) was priceless.

It's actually an extra full season pickup, it's 24 episodes and not 22. Now when the show ends can we not have fans go completely insane?

Gave it a "Chuck".

It was a fun episode, and don't have anything bad to say about it.

Gave it a Morgan

I like Eric Roberts (Best of the best is one testosterone filled martial arts movie and By the sword is quite a cool movie about fencing masters involving a little drama) but compared to the fun of previous guest actors (Steve Austin is always a hoot and i laughed my ass off because of the Slapfight with the Hulk) he seemed a bit lackluster.

Granted.. nowadays the spy stories have taken a bit of 2nd tier to the personal stuff of the main cast (and i'm generally fine with that) but even then this story was not all there.

Good stuff though:

- Jeffster is always good.. always
- Chuck becoming a real pro in the spy business and getting recognition for it
- Casey becoming human (not an easy feat for a biological Terminator ;))
- Morgan doing some crazy but very brave stunt.. Morgan style

And very good news on the Chuck pickup.. it was never one of the highest rated shows but it has consistency and that counts for something too. See ya for the next round of Chuck.

Do the names on the mailboxes mean anything? It was Bartowski, Aguilar, then they cut away, then we got this one name at the end. :)
