I think it got nominated in its first season, didn't it? No wait, I think that was the People's Choice Award, because I remember voting for it.

So who agrees with me that Chuck should at least be nominated for a Best Comedy Emmy? Now that Pushing Daisies is history and I've finally lost interest for good in 30 Rock (too hit or miss for me), it's the only comedy I'm still watching, except I guess Entourage, which is more of a dramedy anyway.

I'll second your nomination.

To be honest, comedies aren't normally my cup of tea. It is hard to describe the reason why, but most comedies just have too great of a cringe factor for me to watch. This includes The Office. I try them, they make me cringe, I turn the channel and never return. And the thing is, it hasn't always been that way. It was a trend that started in the early 80s and has only worsened in the years that have followed.

But with Chuck, it is the first comedy that I feel is a must see each week since MASH went off the air back in 1983. That's my comparison to how well written and structured this show is. It is MASH-level good.

The weird way they abandoned the kids sure makes me wonder...

I could easily see it as a big choice episode for Chuck. His folks are The Big Bad, Jill's with them, and they aren't the ones who want to kill him(unlike The CIA and NSA). "Join The Dark Side Chuck. I am your father!" "Uh..yeah...I know that part."

And yes it deserves to be nominated. With a Best Actor nom for Mr. Levi.

I think the show is a good solid comedy. I never miss it. I'd even like to pitch to it.

But it's not a "Best Comedy" type of show. Nowhere close to the Frasier, M*A*S*H, The Dick Van Dyke Show, Cheers or All in the Familys.

On a side note, there will be a Chuck panel this Sunday at Wondercon with the main cast: I am totally going to be there!

Squee!!!

None of which will be up for an Emmy this year. ;) So what's to stop Chuck from sweeping all categories?
