That 90s miniseries, interestingly, is about the same length as Nolan's movie. The 60s miniseries had 8 full episodes totaling over seven hours.

Im sure my opinion of the film be like most Nolan films; Ill enjoy it, but have no desire to see it again because its an exhausting watch.

I only ever felt that with Tenet, which i don't understand fully to this day

Even such a dry topic as Oppenheimer turned into a fascinating character study and i don't even need to talk about such original stories like Interstellar ( ending is a bit wonky though), Inception or The Presige.

Coming from the trailers alone i am a bit worried though, there is little that actually draws me in.

Except that I felt Oppenheimer was so overly convoluted when a more straightforward story would have had more advantage. Even Dunkirk had the use of multiple timelines that converged towards the end. This will technically be his 3rd historical epic after Dunkirk and Oppenheimer.

As for The Odyssey, I'm betting the Trojan Horse will be Nolan's way to introduce the Metaphysical element most of his movies end up having and would be somewhat fitting.


One thing I think Nolan would be great at would be adapting some classic stories like War of the Worlds. I would love to see his take on it. Or even The Time Machine.

This is really looking like it's going to be an awesome movie. I wish I could handle seeing this in IMAX since that's the way it's meant to be seen, but I know I couldn't handle it.

I either watch it or I don't at this point and money wise it is probably a pass for now.

I trust individuals. There are individual critics and individual viewers (i.e. friends and family) who I trust. None of those groups are monoliths and it's certainly not a case of either or.

There is this trend that has been going for a long time, where films are made with similar titles. Happens a lot with horror films.
