Greeks are Caucasian. (Well, in the context the word is used in the US. I know it's not really used in most of the rest of the world to describe Europeans anymore.)

I assume you meant people of northern and western European descent.
 
I'm wondering if they're also using some parts of the Illiad too, or do characters like Achilles and Helen also show up in The Odyssey?

They both do, briefly.

Achilles is one of the many spirits who visit Odysseus in the Underworld.

Helen appears when Telemachus visits Menelaus.

As for Clytemnestra, she isn't in The Odyssey, but I wonder if she appears when Agamemnon recounts his murder.
 
OK, I have some familiarity with the basics of The Odyssey, but I've never read the whole thing.

That would be awesome. Tho I admit I'm not sure what an ethnic Greek of the time would look like. Olive-skinned and dark-haired, like my friend Frank's wife, Despina?

I have my IMAX tickets for Sunday! I dropped the ball and missed the window for good seats Saturday, alas. Either way, I'm so excited!

Head's up to everyone: I'll be adding a poll and spoilers tag for the thread on that Wednesday ahead of the international release.
 
I've heard some early comments stating that it's a clunky movie. To be honest, I don't know that there's any Christopher Nolan movie that isn't clunky. He tends to lean into the metaphysical a lot which adds to the feeling. Anyway, this should be a fun romp.
