Chris Pine and Star Trek

Did anyone ever follow the IMDB links on Chris's page that leads to his sister which leads to her (and I assume his) uncle who played Col. Green in the TOS "The Savage Curtain"?

I just saw this on IMDB, but I don't recall anyone here mentioning his uncle was Col. Green.

IMDB specifically states that Phillip Pine (Col. Green) is NOT related to Robert Pine (Chris Pine's Dad).

It says it on Philip Pine's bio.

He is not related to actor Robert Pine as some sources indicate.

I didn't mean for my post to come across as "in your face", but coming back and re-reading it I suppose it could be misconstrued as that.

I hope you didn't take it that way...I was just presenting the facts in the least wordy way possible.

Is Chris Pine's father the same Robert Pine that appeared on CHiPS?

If so, then he has another sci-fi connection. Robert Pine appeared as a townsman named Craig on an episode of "Lost in Space" where the Robinsons found themselves time-warped to 1947 ("Visit to a Hostile Planet").

^^That's him...on CHiPs, Robert Pine was Ponch and John's immediate superior - Sergeant Getraer. I was an adolescent boy during 'CHiPs' network run, so of course I never missed an episode. I liked Pine's character quite a bit (probably more than Erik Estrada's character).

...and you say he was in 'Lost in Space' as well...cool.

As mentioned by Sharr Khan above, Robert Pine was also in 'Enterprise' ('Fusion') and Voyager ('The Chute'). Taking a quick look at his L-O-N-G resume on IMDB, I see he's done some other sci-fi also -- an episode of 'Quantum Leap' and the movie 'Independence Day'.

Maybe Robert Pine wasn't a "master thespian", but his acting was good enough to keep him employed through the 160+ roles listed on IMDb. Here's hoping his son can be at least as good (and hopefully better).
