Shit. This is fucked. Chris Obi seemed like a cool guy in interviews he did. You could tell he really did his homework on familiarizing himself with Klingon culture and lore. At the time I kind of felt sorry for him, immersing himself in the role the way he did and he was basically stuck with wearing a restrictive costume speaking the majority of his lines in a fictional language through mouth prosthetics that slurred his words anyway.

Well, if this is true, I'm certainly not feeling sorry for him anymore. Shit.

he did have lots of makeup but it would of been noticed by us... the difference .. to replace him.

Recasting's been done before in Trek. DaiMon Bok (TNG) and Captain Braxton (VOY) were each played by two different actors, Tora Ziyal (DS9) by three...so recasting T'Kuvma would not have been an issue.

It's possible considering how long it took for people to find out the whole Voq/Tyler thing. But that would have caused speculation on why Obi was fired, and perhaps the legal investigations were not ready for that kind of public scrutiny yet?

Anyway, I know innocent before proven guilty, but those are a lot of accusers. I hope they get justice.

Yeah, I think it would have been easy to fool the average viewer - especially since it's not just the make-up, but they artificially modulated the voice as well. Just give the character a scar, and nobody would have noticed.

But yeah, I guess the reason they didn't, was that that would immediatly have put that in the light behind the scenes - and then the DIS creators would be in a bind to explain why they recast him, and that might have been difficult, if there had been nothing more but rumors at the time.
