A draft of Chris Columbus' abandoned Daredevil script (from 1996) was posted online a while ago. I only heard about it now, but man, does that movie sound awful.
For those who don't care to read the entire thing, one blogger provides an in-depth commentary (though I liked the eventual 2003 movie a lot more than she does):

Now, seeing as how the Daredevil movie we did get is an impressive counter-argument against the idea of cinema as art, how is it possible that Columbus's screenplay is worse? Well, for me, it comes down to potential. Simon Birch guy only managed to completely miss the point of the Elektra Saga, while Columbus actually runs through Man Without Fear, the Elektra Saga, and Born Again in one two-hour movie! That's right, three of the most acclaimed, beloved stories in superhero comics and he wanted to smush them all together.
