Charlie Sheen was released from jail after being arrested on domestic violence charges Friday morning. The Two and a Half Men star was booked at 11:20 a.m. for second-degree assault, menacing and criminal mischief, according to a spokesperson for the Pitkin County Sheriff's Department in Aspen, Colo. Sheen, 44, posted an $8,500 bond Friday evening, and was released from jail at 7 p.m. The actor is due in court next on Feb. 8, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. Earlier in the day, police received a 911 call regarding a domestic violence situation at 320 West Hallam Street in Aspen, Colo. Officers investigated and booked Sheen.

Last I read, his wife had a BAC of .13, he had a BAC of .04, and that she went after him and he pushed her in defense, but CO law dictates that in a Domestic Dispute call, one of the parties has to be booked and since his wife was the one who made the 911 call on him, he was the one to get the cuffs. She later changed her story that he "hit her" after she sobered up, and apologized to the local justice who was over seeing the bail hearing.

Funny, I didn't think the wheels of the American justice system moved so quickly that Sheen had already been charged, tried and convicted. Let's hope they move that quickly when Mary J. Blige isn't arrested.
