From Digital Spy

Charlie Brooker is to host a new programme for BBC Two, in which he will interview contributors about their life experiences.

The You Have Been Watching host used his Twitter feed to promote the show, making an appeal to any of his followers interested in appearing on camera.

Participants have been warned to expect "confrontational questioning in Charlie's usual abrasive style".

The new show will film in London on July 17.
Anyone interested in participating?

From @CharltonBrooker
Interested in participating in new show I'm doing? Then lob a blank email to yesplease@zeppotron.com - it'll reply w/ info. Should work now.

This show's concept sounds like crap, but Brooker is a very funny guy, maybe he can make it work.
Seems too vague to judge at this point. Apparently if you email to take part you get this response...

‘Charlie is making a new series for BBC2 and we are looking for people to
join him in an experiment.
Contributors will be required to talk to Charlie about their personal life experiences on camera.
Participants should expect confrontational questioning in Charlie’s usual abrasive style.
A few logistical points
- You will need to be available on Saturday 17th July in London for filming
- If you are still interested in being part of Charlie’s new show, please reply to definitely interested @zeppotron.com giving your name, contact details and age and one of Charlie’s team will give you a call. Please note that, due to high volumes of responses, it may not be possible to reply to everyone who applies to take part in the series’.

Refresh my memory: who is Charlie Brooker?
Charlie Brooker is a columnist in The Guardian with his Screen Burn column and a column in the Comment is Free section, he has done Newswipe, Screenwipe and Gameswipe on BBC Four and does You Have Been Watching, and took part in the Alternative Election night coverage for Channel 4.

Is that the man Servo has holding up You Twat on a card? My favourite avatar evah.

That's him.

And the show now has a name
How TV Ruined Your Life

Ever wondered why life doesn't measure up to those youthful lofty expectations?
From love and money to fear and progress, Charlie Brooker explores a different universal theme each week as this six-part series attempts to explain where it all went wrong and just how wildly the TV and movie ideal differs from life's grim reality.
Marking the point where the mad daydreams of TV and the sorry reality of real life collide, the series employs a mixture of archive footage, sketches and interviews that will have you wiping away tears of laughter while nodding in recognition, which means you’ll probably have your eye out if you’re not careful.

Well when i first heard of "You have been watching" i thought "of god Charlie, what are you doing another panel show for", but was i totally wrong as its brilliant, so i will give his new one a chance.

^That's a shame. I don't think I ever read Charlie's stuff in PC Zone, didn't he recently do a new piece for them?

^I don't know, I haven't read the magazine in years.

I never used to like his column in the magazine. He used to be quite snide and negative just for the sake of it. Now, at least, he makes a good point while doing it.

I think he went back to review a trucker haulage game for the landmark issue. It was quite negative, apparantly.

I'm not sold on the concept and would rather we get news/screen/etcwipe back but I'll have a look.

Oh my. Used to love PC Zone, and Charlie Brooker was one of my favourite writers back in the day. I can't believe it's going away...

Sod that. I sort of can; for one I haven't read it for years. As the article said, the growth in speed of internet downloads, alongside console market growth has sort of pushed PC gaming to one side. The magazine also became more tame as time went on.

I think there must be a new Screenwipe planned at least, Charlie mentioned planning on doing videogame reviews in Screenwipe in the future.
