The story takes place in the future, on a distant planet called the New World which has been colonized by humans. Something called “the germ” has seemingly wiped out all of the women on the planet, and an infection called the Noise has totally eliminated privacy: the men and boys can hear what everyone else is thinking at all times. A young man named Todd Hewitt (Holland) stumbles across the first girl he’s ever seen (Ridley), and eventually realizes that he may be the only one able to stop the planet’s destruction.

It was just announced this week that the movie in it's current state is "Unreleaseable".

"Lionsgate" is spending millions on extensive reshoots. Tom Holland even missed the "Avengers: Endgame" premiere because he was doing the reshoots

Lionsgate delayed the film’s planned March release and is about to begin three weeks of additional production, at a cost of millions more, in the hope that new scenes will improve its commercial prospects. “We wouldn’t be shooting more if we didn’t think we could make this movie work,” said Mr. Feltheimer.

I was reading the basic premise and it sounds confusing/ convoluted

Trying to put on screen the idea of everyone hearing each others thoughts could be difficult to adapt

Prediction: They'll spend so much trying to make it into a big thing that the modest amount it makes will make it a big fat bomb.

Someone needs to tell Lionsgate that the YA fad is well and truly done. They just can't let go.

This sounds like total garbage. 'The New World', 'The Noise', 'The Germ'. Did the author seriously not have enough creative ability to come up with names for a Planet and some diseases?

Based of off the last few YA adaptations like this, I don't think any amount of reshoots is going to turn this into a success.

They actually filmed this in 2017 - sounds like it's a car-crash - it will be interesting to see the joins - young cast members can look very different in two years...

I find it funny Tom Holland is usually talking up his new movies for days on his Instagram but not this one. He’s even posted today, but not a word about this.

It's been 3 years since this movie was made. I think everyone has pretty much distanced themselves from the movie.
