So with THUNDARR and HERCULOIDS discussed recently, how about a discussion about this classic...Challenge of the Superfriends..
I loved this cartoon when it came on in the late 70s. Sure, by today's standards it may seem simple, but for 1977? It was a miracle. The Super-Friends expand their roster and include some of the other heros like Green Lantern, Flash and Hawkman and others...and then you throw in Captain Cold and Toyman and Grodd and Grundy, and others, and its..wow...DC COMIC ORGY!!!....
I have the entire Superfiends collection on DVD. I like the extras that are included on some of the DVDs. Totally off subject, butI just watched the extra's package for the NEW ADVENTURES OF BATMAN (the one with Batmite) and found it very interesting...
One more thing I liked about Challnge..? The Legion of Doom HQ. Yes, it may have looked like Darth Vaders helmet, but it was pretty cool and had some very interesting extras built in..
My favorite episode??? The one where the Legion sets out to change the past and eliminate Superman, Green Lantern and Wonder Woman from the time line....goofy stuff there, but fun from a more innocent time...
