News CBS All Access Growth Leads To New Offerings

I really, really hope they do the new offerings well. It may convince me to "save some money" on an annual subscription rate to CBS All Access.

Excellent news. Imagine it will be similar to what we have today in Black Mirror/ Philip K Dick's Electric Dreams anthology series.

Glad that Discovery has been a success but I'm wary of another "Zone." It's been rebooted twice with little success.

Well they better bring in some decent shows to watch. If season 2 of Discovery isn't airing until 2019, there's probably going to be mass cancellations of CBS All Access.

Wait.. I though CBSAA was going to fail and discovery was going to be moved to regular CBS by Christmas. At least that is what I was told.
They gave everyone who tried to unsubscribe after their free trail an additional month of free CBSAA.

Which will be expiring anytime.

Yep, I canceled today to avoid the billing.

I'm not paying to watch commercials. I'm not paying a premium to NOT watch commercials until they drop the fee to watch commercials. Yes, it's the principle of it. I'll get the DVDs when they come out.

I'd definitely try Twilight Zone. But like ichab I'm wary of it due to lesser reboots over the last 20 years.

But I'll most likely cancel and restart the package as shows premiere.

A lot of that was wishful thinking, cause their app sucks to use. Constant hiccups and dropouts. Most of us would rather watch on netflix and cbs proper.

They still haven't gotten a handle on their app. Tried to watch some ds9, the app still stank. Amazon? no problem.

STD costs around $8 million per episode, which is probably why they needed Netflix and its international market to cover production.

I am planning to drop AA if they're going into hiatus. I might rejoin in Jan or Feb, depending on when they restart DSC, and maybe on how the reviews are sounding. I may also wait until the end of S1 and just binge over a weekend. I have not seen anything on AA wortg my $10 / mo other than DSC, and I am not even sold on that.

The 80's version was good. Harlan Ellison gave them a script as good as he gave trek.

The CBS news release was nebulous enough to be suspicious. “Record number of sign ups” with no numbers. So 10 people were signed up and 10 more signed up? And no details on customer retention?

We will need to let this go longer before I believe the corporate propaganda.

That's just normal corporate vague-speak. They never give exact numbers. I think they write these things as much for their own encouragement as they do to make an actual announcement.

Super jazzed about the Twilight Zone, though. Also saw that new cop comedy from the folks who made The Other Guys. Looks interesting.

The Twilight Zone reboot has my attention, I wonder if Netflix will get a taste of the action again.
