Catherine Tate to join The Office

Should be very interesting.

I've never seen Catherine in anything outside of DW. I hope she has more acting ability than Freema (who has none) and can be someone other than Donna.

I didn't find any of the other applicants annoying in a manner that I wouldn't have been interested in watching weekly. I suppose it is a little unfair, though, to judge future storytelling and portrayal based on a small amount of previous screen time - although I started hoping Spader would get the gig as I was watching his character during the finale.

yoou should search out some of her sketch show on youtube. some people can't stand it, but it does prove she can do many characters.

While her comedy is not to everyones taste,'Big Train' and then her own sketch show proved without doubt she has acting ability, plus you don't get to do Shakespeare with the RSC if you can only play a temp from Chiswick.

What role is she going to fill? Is Andy Bernard losing his role as branch manager?

It helps if you read the linked article. :p

Although Robert California (Spader) is now the CEO of Dunder Mifflin/Sabre, but Jo (Kathy Bates) is still chairman of the board, and she hires Nellie (Tate) as a special projects manager who reports directly to the corporate office.
